The old ones are the best.

I love reading a good magazine just as much as I love reading a good book, and just as love to re-read a good book I love to re-read a good mag. And when re-reading a very old copy of Tatler the other day I came across this lovely Q&A interview with the beautiful Jane Birkin, I'm pretty sure I had read it before but once again it made me smile. Here's a few of the things she had to say...

Yul Brynner's wife gave me earplugs 30 years ago. Now I always travel with earplugs, a pillow and a linen pillowcase. Life is too short not to sleep, so at night I take two calming pills, two sleeping pill's and I'm out.

And the award for bad blogger goes to.....Me!!!!

Its been a while since I did a post or have even thought about doing a post, not a single post was done for the whole of January! tut tut...And talking of January (and to get off the 'lack of posts' subject) where did January go??...?? Already we are a good way into February, school half term is only a 5 days away and already my half term is booked up with meet ups and play days with friends and there children and a long overdue sleepover at nanny's (for the kids not me.) And that child free night will be put to good use for a meal out with the blokey and my oldest and one of my closest friends and her lovely husband, I can't wait!  

It's valentines day tomorrow and this year my gift is... 2 new tyres on my car! and to be fair I'm quite happy with that. My car did need new tyres and I didn't need the hassle of sorting new ones out and the bonus of not having to spend a large amount of money on something so dull. So when the blokey asked what I wanted I said New wheels! 
In return I'm taking him out for lunch on Tuesday while the kids are at school, I'm going to come out of work early and were going to a local pub we used to go to when we first got together, the food there is lovely, its proper pub grub..yum.
The kids have made me a card at school, can't wait to see it, school and home made cards are the best : )

the night before christmas

I have had a fantastic last few days, my birthday was perfect, even the snow on the floor and the cold on my chest could not spoil my fun.

I had lots of lovely cards...

and lots of lovely presents, a lovely family day out a some delicious food.

and now its Christmas eve already, and all the presents are wrapped, the fridge is fully stocked. There is still a generous layer of snow outside, its looks so pretty against my fairy lights.

But inside is just as pretty and a lot warmer too! We are all so excited here, the kids would have gone to bed at 3.30 this afternoon if they thought it would have made Christmas morning come any sooner. So now we are just waiting...for the big special day to arrive and I've done all I can do for now

so all that's left to say is...Cheers and Merry Christmas everyone! I'm off track Santa with the kids : )

oh and I need a new pair of dark wash jeans so I'll be looking out for a pair, not a bad lil sale wish list and all with-in my budget too :) The online sale begins today but the main sale starts in-stores Christmas eve...Good luck ;)

snowed in, poorly and about to turn a year older!

I've not left the house in two days, the snow put a stop to our plans the weekend (family get-together and visit to our local Christmas grotto with the kids) and then along came a cold and it looks like its gonna be staying for while, its made itself very comfortable on my chest...and just in time to help me celebrate my birthday tomorrow too! But I've still got things to do...family to visit...presents to deliver...and one present left to buy and wrap. So I'm wrapping myself up warm today and me and my cold are braving the snow and getting on with things...on the Plus side its my birthday tomorrow and I've got plans, pre birthday meal tonight with one of my bestest friends, out for lunch with the blokey and my babies tomorrow, a snoop round the shops...oh and the opening of presents and cards...I can't wait! Here's a few that I've already opened and been very lucky enough to use thanks to the blokey...

and my new favorite find that found me...it has lovely ruched detail at the sides near the hem, it looks great with my black ribbon worn as a belt.

I'm such a lucky girl...and no snow or nasty colds gonna ruin my day! ; )
